The Project 13MATH-01, “Variational Analysis and its applications to optimization, monotone operators, convex analysis, and Nash equilibrium problems“,  is developed under the MATH-AmSud initiative. It involves research teams from Brazil, Peru, Chile and France.  Funds of this project comes from the regional program MATH-AmSud in cooperation with different institutions from the involved countries: Conicyt, CMM (Chile), CNRS, MAAE (France), IMCA, CONCYTEC (Peru), CAPES (Brazil). The execution period of the project is from January 2013 until December 2014.

Project theme:

Variational analysis has shown its importance and fl‡exibility in solving hard and diverse problems and giving mathematical foundations of many practical approaches which are of common use in numerical optimization schemes and variational inequalities. Our proposal focuses on the study of variational properties of functions,  subdifferentials mapping, monotone operators, algorithms for optimization problems and monotone inclusions, differential inclusions, sweeping processes among other topics.
